Liz Williamson to Present on Environmental Developments Shaping the Power Industry in A&WMA Webinar

Liz Williamson, partner in Balch’s Washington, D.C. office and member of the firm’s Environmental & Natural Resources Practice, will present during the Air & Waste Management Association’s (A&WMA) webinar, “Powering What’s Next: Energy and Environmental Developments Shaping the Power Industry,” on September 9, 2026.

As electricity demand grows and the power sector responds to new technologies, emerging load drivers, regulatory changes and ongoing litigation, energy and environmental developments are increasingly important considerations for utilities and other industry stakeholders. The webinar will examine federal, regional and state developments affecting electricity production and environmental regulation, including air and climate policy, waste regulation, data centers, nuclear development and related court activity.

Liz has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of environmental law. Her practice involves counseling, risk management, permitting, litigation, and enforcement. With the evolving environmental regulations addressing energy transitions and climate, Liz helps power sector and manufacturing clients understand the impacts of these changes and navigate future compliance. She often provides advice and education to C-suite management and Boards of Directors on forthcoming regulations and risks. In her air practice, Liz represents clients permitting new generation and constructing carbon reduction technologies. She also provides day-to-day support for clients involved in coal ash management, beneficial use and disposal.

The webinar will be held September 9 from 1:00–2:30 p.m. ET. Registration is available through A&WMA.
