Liz Williamson to Facilitate Panel Discussions at Virginia Manufacturers Association Conference
Liz Williamson, partner in the firm’s Environmental & Natural Resources Practice, will moderate two panel discussions at the 2026 Virginia Environmental Health & Safety (VEHS) Conference & Expo, hosted by the Virginia Manufacturers Association on September 22, 2026.
Drawing on her experience advising manufacturing clients on environmental matters, Liz will co-moderate the 9:30 AM Virginia Department of Environmental Quality Regulatory Briefing. This briefing is designed to provide DEQ’s most up to date information on all areas of environmental media, including hot topics such as new regulations and guidance.
Liz will also moderate the 3:30 PM session, “Navigating Environmental Justice Standards in Manufacturing”. Environmental Justice is a cutting-edge issue in Virginia, particularly as DEQ contemplates a new environmental justice permitting guidance. The panel offers multiple perspectives on environmental justice outreach issues from the points of view of environmental professionals in the technical and legal fields. It will focus on effective strategies for outreach and engagement of environmental justice communities.
Liz Williamson is a partner at Balch & Bingham in the Washington, D.C. office. Liz has 25 years of experience in all aspects of environmental law and has focused her career on power sector and manufacturing industries. She routinely provides advice on federal and state rulemaking, Title V permitting, emissions monitoring, litigation, enforcement and compliance. Liz’s practice particularly focuses on Clean Air Act and coal ash compliance, routinely working side-by-side with technical and operational experts. Liz received both her Juris Doctor degree and her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
