  • What previous experiences, prior to your work at Balch, influence your practice?

    My previous five years of experience at the Public Utility Commission of Texas is highly influential to my practice. As a Staff Attorney for the Commission, I conducted legal research, drafted pleadings, and represented the Commission in mediation and contested cases before the State Office of Administrative Hearings. The aforementioned cases involved substantial communication and collaboration with different Texas state agencies, quasi-state agencies, county officials, municipalities, and privately owned utilities.

  • What do you find most exciting about your work?

    I enjoy the constant challenge of assisting energy and utility industry clients meet the demands of a growing and rapidly changing world, especially with the rapid expansion of AI data centers and cryptocurrency mining.

Select Matters

  • Represented the Public Utility Commission of Texas in an electric utility rate case which involved the largest transmission and distribution utility in the state of Texas.
  • Represented the Public Utility Commission of Texas in a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity amendment case which involved the acquisition of renewable-generation facilities totaling 2.2 billion dollars.
  • Represented the Public Utility Commission of Texas in numerous electric Certificate of Convenience and Necessity amendment cases which involved the construction of transmission lines.
  • Represented the Public Utility Commission of Texas in two system resiliency plan cases which involved two vertically integrated electric utility companies. 
  • Represented the Public Utility Commission of Texas in a water and wastewater utility rate case for a Class B water and wastewater utility which included thirteen water systems and ten wastewater systems.
  • Represented the Public Utility Commission of Texas in numerous sale, transfer, or merger cases which involved water utilities. 
  • Represented the Public Utility Commission of Texas in a telecommunications case which involved coordination with the North American Numbering Plan Administrator to implement the 621 Houston area code project.
