Timothy John Segers

I represent a wide variety of clients, including privately held companies, both small and large, and private equity firms. My clients include both domestic and international companies involved in a wide range of businesses, including manufacturing, transportation, real estate, energy, biotechnology, and financial services.

I have represented clients in numerous asset and stock acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, venture capital, and private equity transactions (from both the investor and company side), securitizations and corporate borrowings. I also have extensive experience in business formations, including corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships. I regularly advise boards and management on a variety of governance and fiduciary matters, including distress situations. In my tax practice, I have advised clients on a broad range of tax matters, including tax planning of transactions, choice of entity, tax controversies, low income housing and other tax credits, and other compliance matters.

The most exciting parts of my practice are getting to really know my clients and working with them to further their businesses and solve their problems. The challenges are constantly changing, and there is great personal satisfaction in knowing you have helped your client close the deal, settle the dispute, or resolve the issue of the day.
