My clients include vertically integrated public utilities, independent power producers, large commercial and industrial purchasers of energy, generation resource developers, data center developers, owners, and operators, manufacturers of electric generating equipment and grid-scale battery storage solutions, and energy investment funds.

My practice focuses on negotiating power purchase agreements, construction contracts, and major equipment procurement contracts for new electric generating and storage facilities and other industrial and infrastructure projects, long term service agreements and other contracts related to the ownership and operation of energy infrastructure and data centers, creating renewable energy programs and products for utilities and solar and wind generation resource owners.

Nearly everything in the renewable energy space, and especially battery energy storage space, is new and always changing, which means I get to help my clients find solutions to problems that have never been tackled before.

Years ago, I answered that, as energy storage technologies develop, a new set of challenges will present itself to the electric industry. We are now living through the early stages of mass deployment of energy storage coupled with aggressive climate-policy-driven changes to the generation mix. The next decade or more will likely see investment in these technologies at a scale and speed that will dwarf historical examples. In, the near-to-medium term, as this investment happens, we will grapple with new supply chain issues as global trade systems re-align while simultaneously dealing with major shifts in the financial markets and economic landscape, meaning all of the old assumptions about how projects and business in general are done will have to be reexamined and perhaps changed.
