Which courts or agencies do you most often appear before on behalf of your clients?

It depends on the matter. A number of disputes begin in state or federal district court. However, these disputes often end up in federal bankruptcy court. I am licensed in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
What types of clients do you represent?

My clients are in a broad array of industries ranging from traditional lenders to start-up companies who find themselves in the world of bankruptcy and insolvency. I work with investors acquiring assets from distressed companies through 363 sales as well as non-bankruptcy avenues.
What do you find most exciting about your work?

The most rewarding part of my work is teaming with my client to achieve its goals. Every matter is different, which means that goals and how we get there change. Knowing my clients’ business and the industries they service help me in deciding the right path to take.

Enforced multi-million dollar judgment against multiple judgment debtors in multiple states.
Represented indenture trustee in bond default by now closed private college.
Represented SBA lenders in loan default and collection matters.
Represented holder of mortgage portfolio in chapter 11 bankruptcy of mortgage servicer.
Represented stalking horse bidder in successful acquisition of interconnection rights in chapter 11 bankruptcy of power plant operator.
Represented secured lender in judicial dissolution of private college borrower.
Avoided multi-million dollars in fraudulent transfers by debtor on behalf of defrauded investor.
Represented indenture trustees in assisted living facility bond defaults.
Represented participant bank in dispute with lead bank on commercial real estate loan.
Represented landlords and tenants in in lease disputes.
Defended stay violation claims and preference avoidance actions in bankruptcy courts.
Advised on risks of bankruptcy in the structuring of transactions.
