Balch & Bingham is pleased to announce the addition of attorneys Mitch Fucetola and Emily Sanchez, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in commercial litigation, real estate transactions and environmental regulatory compliance. Mitch returns to the firm’s Atlanta office, following service in the Georgia governor’s office and clerkships with the Supreme Court of Georgia. Emily joins the firm’s Gulfport office, following a federal judicial clerkship in Mississippi.
Mitch represents businesses in complex commercial, class action, product liability and appellate litigation in state and federal courts, drawing on his accounting background to align litigation strategies with clients’ business objectives. As Associate Executive Counsel to Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp, he worked closely with the General Assembly, advised on litigation involving the state, assisted with judicial appointments and counseled on contract and regulatory matters. He also clerked for Supreme Court of Georgia Justices Sarah Hawkins Warren and John J. Ellington. He is a barrister in the Logan E. Bleckley Inn of Court. Mitch earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as articles editor of the Georgia Law Review, and holds a Master of Accountancy and a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Georgia.
Emily focuses her practice on real estate transactions and environmental regulatory compliance, advising clients through all stages of commercial real estate projects, land use and complex development, and helping businesses navigate federal and state environmental laws. She previously clerked for the Honorable Michael T. Parker of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. Emily earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law, where she served as managing editor of the Mississippi College Law Review and received American Jurisprudence Awards in eight subjects, including property, construction law and government contracting.
The addition of Mitch and Emily supports Balch’s work helping clients resolve complex business disputes, advance real estate and development projects, and address the regulatory considerations affecting their operations.
