Mark Alexander Elected to American Board of Trial Advocates

Balch partner Mark Alexander, a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice in Gulfport, Mississippi, was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) at its National Board Meeting on October 17, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

ABOTA is an invitation-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to preserving and promoting the right to a civil jury trial provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Members must have at least five years of active trial experience, have tried at least seven civil jury trials to conclusion, possess additional litigation experience and demonstrate civility, integrity and professionalism. The organization works to strengthen the ethical and technical standards of trial advocacy, promote effective representation and support the efficient administration of justice.

Mark represents clients in products liability and casualty litigation, business litigation, workers’ compensation defense, construction law, eminent domain, real estate matters and creditors’ rights. He also represents governmental entities, including school districts and economic development organizations.

Mark has prosecuted and defended matters in state and federal courts throughout Mississippi and Alabama and has tried numerous jury cases. His approach begins with understanding each client’s business and, whenever possible, resolving its legal needs without litigation.

With his induction, Mark joins Balch’s K.C. Hightower and Mike Edwards, who are also members of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
