I primarily represent regulated investor-owned utilities, non-profit utilities, municipal-owned utilities, and independent power producers focusing on renewable energy project development. In addition, I represent project developers and lenders in real estate and other commercial transactions.

Clients rely on my experience and expertise in matters before the Mississippi Public Service Commission, particularly in rate proceedings, requests for certificates of public convenience and necessity to construct new utility projects, and electric service contract development and other project development related to large loads and data centers.

I take great pride and pleasure in learning clients' businesses and developing a deep understanding of their business and legal needs. I find that I can be a much more effective counselor for clients when I have taken the time to understand their objectives.

I see continuing changes to the way electricity is generated, transmitted, and sold to customers, and how renewable energy, distributed generation, electricity storage, and nuclear energy will impact the energy industry in the next planning horizon for both regulated utilities and unregulated project developers. I also expect that issues related to large load customers and data centers will continue to rapidly evolve with a focus on transmission interconnection, infrastructure, and protecting residential and other customers from large load cost-shifting. Additionally, I expect that environmental regulation, particularly climate change laws and regulations, will contribute to the changes in the mix of generation serving retail and wholesale customers. I believe that energy efficiency, net metering, and renewable energy will continue to influence the energy economy and the broader economy.
