Arnie Caviel Presents on Administrative Law Evidence at Austin Bar Association CLE

Arnie Caviel, attorney in the firm’s Austin office and member of the Energy Practice, presented at the Austin Bar Association Administrative Law Section’s continuing legal education program, The Anatomy of an Administrative Hearing.

Arnie co-presented with Douglas Fohn, Managing Assistant General Counsel of ERCOT, on “What gets admitted during administrative law proceedings?” In his presentation, Arnie provided a detailed analysis of the rules of evidence of the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and State Administrative Office of Hearings (SOAH), as well as the purposes of PUCT and SOAH.

Arnie also shared practical examples of evidence he has seen admitted under PUCT and SOAH rules, drawing on his prior experience as a staff attorney at the PUCT. For five years, Arnie represented the Commission in matters of electricity, water, wastewater, and telecommunications.
