Martha Legg Miller, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Corporate Practice, has been named to the 2018-2019 Alabama Leadership Initiative (ALI) Class, set to kick off this November. Martha will join upcoming professionals from a diverse set of industries as a member of the program’s newest class.
Established in 1995, ALI joins together upcoming leaders from across Alabama to discuss the state’s current and future challenges through a series of two-day retreats. The program provides participants a diverse support network of peers, as well as the opportunity to learn from the state’s current leaders and decision-makers.
ALI, which serves as a complementary program to Leadership Alabama, strategically provides resources through education--offering its participants the opportunity to learn from statewide issues experts; connections--uniting diverse leaders who share a common desire to see the state thrive into the future; and personal development--including public speaking, effective board involvement and political involvement.
In her legal practice, Martha provides counsel in transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and economic development. Martha regularly works with clients in heavily-regulated industries who present complex legal and business issues for resolution. Martha has been recognized by Chambers USA for her work in the Corporate/Commercial legal field and as a Rising Star Lawyer by the Birmingham Business Journal. In addition to her membership in ALI, Martha is an active member of the community, serving on multiple boards and committees.
