Highly-Regarded Energy Lawyer Josh Bell Joins Balch & Bingham
Balch & Bingham LLP today announced that Josh Bell has joined the firm’s Energy Practice as a partner. Josh’s practice will focus on representing utilities and energy producers in regulatory and transactional matters. He will be located in the firm’s Birmingham, Alabama, office.
Josh has more than a decade of experience, across the U.S. and internationally, serving as counsel in the energy and construction sectors, working on power generation and commercial transactional matters. Josh is recognized for his ability to navigate critical and complex negotiations and experience drafting a wide array of contracts, including design and construction agreements, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), purchase and sale agreements, equipment and services supply contracts, operation and maintenance (O&M) agreements, and performance guarantee agreements. He has supported complex energy transactions and advised on emerging projects such as battery energy, grid integration, and engineering.

His previous experiences serving as in-house counsel for companies in the power generation market uniquely positions him to have a deep understanding of our clients’ perspectives and the challenges they face,” said Dan H. Josh most recently served as associate general counsel for both NEC Energy Solutions and APR Energy, as well as previously serving in commercial and construction counsel roles for General Electric, where he supported complex business transactions and strategic contracting activities. Josh earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law, M.B.A. from Samford University, and B.S. from the University of Kentucky.
